It’s summer!  Which means beach, pool, park, waterpark trips and more!  Summer day trips can be a ton of fun, but finding healthier options can be difficult.  Most of the time the only accessible foods are fried or loaded with sugar and unhealthy fats.  Instead always go prepared with snacks that are good at room temperature or can be kept in a small lunch box you can easily move around.  Below are a list of some of our favorite healthy snacks to keep you energized the right way during your summer fun!

👉 Hummus

Hummus is great with raw veggies, pretzels, or even in a veggie wrap.

👉 Homemade Granola Bars

Homemade no bake granola bars are so quick and easy, and can be kept for a few days!

👉 Ants on a log

An oldie but a goody! Who doesn’t love celery and peanut butter, add some raisins “ants” on top for fun.  Make it high protein by using powdered peanut butter.

👉 Frozen berries

Perfect to beat the heat and something sweet. 

👉 Hard boiled eggs

Perfect for some extra protein and healthy fats that will keep you satisfied

👉 Protein Powder

Bring a shake cup and mix up some protein with water! Maybe get some ice too to help cool you down! This sweet and cooling treat will help you walk away from the ice cream truck if you need to!

👉 Air-popped popcorn

The perfect sweet and salty food for any hot summer day!  A healthy whole grain you can feel good about munching on.

👉 Beef or Turkey Jerky

Another high protein favorite to help keep you hunger levels in check!

👉 Protein Chips

Maybe you are picking up a theme? Protein snacks are key!  It is much easier to find carbs and fats, even healthy ones while on the road.  Protein is much harder to find!
